Bart Ramsey is a songwriter, piano player, accordionist, rhythm guitarist and producer living in New Orleans. 

He got his start as a musician when hired on as organist for The Jark Brothers in Cameroon, West Africa.  For over a decade, Ramsey toured Britain, France and Italy, releasing such records as In Search Of A Cheap Hotel (Ramsey & Vaan), Little Red Wagon (Ramsey & Vaan), Live in Italia (Bart Ramsey & 39 Strangers), and Amnesia Café (Bart Ramsey).  He also surfaced as a founding member of the award-winning Vavavoom.  Currently, he leads Zazou City, the New-Orleans Gypsy-jazz band that has released two albums, Liar's Moon, and The Man Who Couldn’t Dream.  His new album, Insomnia Street Chronicles, was released in December of 2023.

Ramsey has worked and recorded with such musicians as Johnny Vidacovich, Charlie Miller, Anders Osborne, Neti Vaan, James and Glenn David Andrews, Jack Fine, Bruce Brackman, Raphael Bas, Louie Ludwig, Rob Halverson, Matt Bell, Mike West and Matt Rody.  Besides his own Gypsy jazz project, he works with singers Ruby Moon and Miss Sophie Lee, plays with the Harmonouche trad gypsy band, and performs solo piano and vocals in New Orleans. He also writes novels.
